The ceremony will include an inspection of a Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces, as well as a 21-gun salute.

A state banquet will be hosted later in the evening by President Mahama in honour of his guest, celebrating the longstanding diplomatic relations between Ghana and Zimbabwe.

The highlight of the visit will be bilateral talks scheduled to take place at Peduase Lodge, following a private meeting between the two leaders. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation in key sectors including trade, tourism, agriculture, health, sanitation, anti-corruption efforts, and job creation.

The engagements will culminate in the signing and exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding aimed at deepening collaboration between the two nations.

As part of his itinerary, President Mnangagwa is also expected to visit the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant to gain insights into Ghana’s advancements in healthcare delivery and waste management.

In addition, he will pay homage to Ghana’s founding leader at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, where he will lay a wreath.

President Mnangagwa is scheduled to depart Ghana on April 3, with full departure honours at the Jubilee Lounge.

The visit is expected to further strengthen diplomatic ties and open new avenues for economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
