According to Chief Inspector Christopher Wonder, the complainant, Seidu Mohammed, a businessman from Koforidua, parked his Opel vehicle in front of the UBA Bank at Accra Central around 4:00 a.m. on September 20, 2025, leaving the car unlocked while crossing the road to buy tea.
Inside the vehicle was a bag containing GHS 50,800 and two Tecno mobile phones valued at GHS 3,500. The four accused persons, who were nearby, reportedly conspired to open the car and steal the valuables.
Police intelligence led to the arrest of Dodoo, who was allegedly part of a group known for breaking into parked vehicles in the area. A search on him uncovered two Tecno mobile phones, which were later identified by the complainant as his stolen property.
During interrogation, Dodoo confessed to participating in the theft but revealed that a dispute had erupted among the group during the sharing of the stolen money. He claimed that Amuquaye took the cash, promising to distribute it later.
Police are currently pursuing the other three suspects as investigations continue.
