The Accra Circuit Court has adjourned the case involving Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, to November 26, 2025, following his appearance in court on Monday. The adjournment was due to the pending arrival of a new judge to preside over the matter.
Abronye, who serves as the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), faces charges of offensive conduct and publication of false news. He has pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of GHC50,000.

According to the prosecution, Abronye made offensive and abusive remarks during a live broadcast on Ohia TV, allegedly targeting the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
He reportedly stated:
“The current Inspector General of Police has low Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and he is the most foolish IGP in the history of Ghana.”
Additionally, the NPP regional chairman is alleged to have published false news on September 3, 2025, during the Ohia Online TV programme, “The Evidence,” claiming that “all strategic meetings conducted by the NDC in Akwatia had the IGP in attendance.”
