Executive Director of Gender in Focus, Madam Alberta Kwofie, said the project would deploy a proven model offering affordable, collateral-free microloans, supported by entrepreneurship training, business advisory services and NTD sensitisation.
She noted that the project simultaneously targets economic vulnerability and health disparities by empowering women, persons affected by NTDs and their caregivers to build sustainable livelihoods and strengthen socio-economic and health resilience.
Madam Kwofie added that integrated training modules, covering savings, loan management and investment strategies, would ensure responsible use of funds and long-term financial stability for beneficiaries.
Western Regional Director for the Department of Gender, Madam Maribel Akuorkor Okine, encouraged women beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity to transform their economic circumstances, urging them to channel the credit into meaningful ventures that improve their lives.
District Director of Health at Ellembelle, Dr Augustine Amoako, advised recipients, particularly those living with NTDs, to adhere strictly to medical treatment plans to safeguard their health as they pursue economic improvement.
