Amen and Amen Institute donates GH¢10,000 to Ministry of Food and Agriculture for 2025 World Food Day celebration

The Amen and Amen Institute, a non-governmental organisation, has donated GH¢10,000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) to support activities marking the 2025 World Food Day.

World Food Day, observed annually on October 16, provides a global platform to highlight collective actions and progress in building sustainable food systems. This year’s celebration is themed “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future.”

Presenting the donation on behalf of the institute’s Founder and Leader, Amen Amenreynolds Amen, Mr Daniel Reynolds reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to advancing food security. “Amen and Amen Institute has been in partnership with the United Nations for the annual celebration of WFP over the years,” he noted.

Mr Reynolds urged the youth to embrace farming as a sustainable pathway to strengthen Ghana’s food security. “We encourage, especially the youth, who can help MoFA to promote food security for the nation to go into very serious farming,” he emphasised. He also commended government authorities for their efforts in safeguarding the country’s prosperity.

Receiving the donation, Mr Bright Demordzi, National Coordinator of the Feed Ghana Programme, expressed gratitude to the Institute for its consistent support. He described the contribution as timely and complementary to the government’s flagship Feed Ghana initiative.

“This year’s theme tells us that we need to work hand-in-hand for better food and for a better future. What the government of Ghana is doing is in tandem with the vision of the World Food Programme,” Mr Demordzi said.

He pledged that the funds would be put to effective use to ensure a successful commemoration of the day.
