Nana Bediatuo Asante, the Executive Secretary of the President, has vehemently denied accusations surrounding his alleged involvement in negotiations related to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR)-Torentco deal.
Strongly refuting the claims published in The Herald Newspaper, Asante's lawyers issued a stern rejoinder addressing the allegations.
The Herald Newspaper recently alleged that Nana Bediatuo Asante had engaged in prolonged negotiations concerning the TOR State Facility and that Torentco was considered his “baby,” insinuating an attempt to transfer TOR to another company without due process.
In response, Bediatuo Asante's legal representatives, in a rejoinder dated November 28, addressed to Larry Dogbey, Managing Editor of The Herald Newspaper, dismissed the claims outright.
“Our client does not have any dealings with the subject matter referred to supra, and the same cannot be said to be the baby of our client. Moreover, our client has not haggled with anyone for the said TOR Facility,” stated the rejoinder.
The legal team, acting on behalf of Nana Bediatuo Asante, explicitly cautioned The Herald Newspaper against spreading false information about their client and urged them to adhere to journalistic ethics and standards.
“We are instructed to notify you to stop the deliberate orchestration of false publication about our client and to take steps to verify any information prior to publication in accordance with the ethics of the journalism profession and the standards of the Ghana Journalist Association.”
