Prampram, Ghana – Afua Asantewaa Owusu Aduonum, the Ghanaian who recently embarked on a journey to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual, has disclosed that her attempt is yet to be submitted for official recognition.
Speaking during the 31st Watch Night service at Potter's City, led by Prophet Nanasei Opoku-Sarkodie in Prampram, Afua Asantewaa explained that the judges and technical team have completed their evaluation.
The results will soon be submitted for verification by the Guinness World Records, after which an official announcement will be made regarding her record attempt.
Afua Asantewaa initiated her record-breaking sing-a-thon on Christmas Eve and successfully concluded on Friday, December 29, 2023, after an impressive 126 hours and 52 minutes of continuous singing.
Throughout the marathon, the entrepreneur exclusively performed Ghanaian songs back-to-back at the Akwaaba village, drawing support from numerous Ghanaians, including A-list musicians and politicians.
In recognition of her achievement, Afua Asantewaa has been appointed as a Tourism Ambassador, marking a significant milestone in her musical and entrepreneurial journey.
