Police arrest eight, calm returns to Boadua after chieftaincy disturbance

The Eastern South Regional Police Command says calm has been restored at Boadua following a chieftaincy-related disturbance that threatened peace in the community.

This statement was signed by DSP David Fianko-Okyere, Head of the Public Affairs Unit, Eastern South Region. The release carries the reference number ESR/PAU.79/VOL.1/14 and was issued from Kibi.

The Police indicated that in any reply, the number and date of the letter should be quoted.

The Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service, Eastern South Region, and dated 16th December, 2025, the Police said they acted swiftly after receiving a complaint on Saturday, December 14, 2025.

The complaint was lodged by the Bretuo Abusuapanin of Boadua, who reported that a group of people from the Boadua Aduana Family had attacked the Boadua Chief’s Palace.

According to the Police, the group caused damage to the main entrance of the palace, forcibly entered the premises, and destroyed a shrine in what was described as an attempt to take over the palace from the Bretuo Family.

Upon receipt of the complaint, police personnel moved in promptly and restored order at the palace, preventing the situation from escalating across the wider Boadua community.

As part of investigations, eight suspects,Baffour Kwame Agyei, Kwabena Twum, Baffour Kwame Annor, Baffour Kofi Dankwa, Maxwell Frimpong, Eric Dankwah, Nana Kwaku Frimpong, Baffour Kwasi Ampaabeng, and Baffour Yaw Anya,were arrested to assist police inquiries.

The suspects have since been granted police enquiry bail and are expected to be arraigned on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
