President Mahama, himself a member of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, highlighted the immense spiritual impact and significant economic opportunities the 2026 congress will bring. He said the anticipated global visibility and influx of visitors underscore the need for close collaboration and government assistance.

He also reiterated the importance of leadership anchored in moral and biblical values.

Rev. Yeo praised President Mahama’s visionary and decisive leadership, noting that it has helped maintain relative economic stability. He also commended the President for launching a Code of Conduct for government officials, and appealed for sustained church–state collaboration to ensure a world-class congress.

The 2026 World Assemblies of God Congress, launched in Accra on November 14, will run from October 12 to 14, 2026. Delegates will discuss strategies to advance the MM33 Agenda, which seeks to establish one million Assemblies of God churches worldwide by 2033.

The target coincides with the 2000th anniversary of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Day of Pentecost, regarded as the birth of the Christian Church.
