According to a statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer, the body was found on a porch near a shop at the pump with visible head injuries.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the robbers stormed the filling station, broke into an office used for electricity power credit sales and mobile money transactions, and absconded with undisclosed sums of money. The attackers also ransacked the office of the pump manager and attempted to force open a safe.

A crime scene management team recovered an axe and a club stained with blood from the scene. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Sunyani Teaching Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The police confirmed that efforts have been intensified to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
