Kpando Heart of Lions maintained their narrow lead at the summit of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) table with 10 points after holding Asante Kotoko to a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The match was fiercely contested, with both sides creating several scoring chances but failing to convert, leaving the Porcupine Warriors to settle for their second draw of the season. The result came amid Kotoko’s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they are set to face Morocco‘s WAC in the second-round qualifiers.
In Bechem, Accra Hearts of Oak secured a crucial away point after another goalless encounter with Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park. The Phobians remain defensively solid, yet to concede a goal after four matches, and sit third on the table with eight points.
Hohoe United earned their first GPL victory of the season with an emphatic 4-1 triumph over Karela United at the Hohoe Sports Stadium. Captain Safian Usman led by example, scoring twice, while William Oduro and Sena Ati added a goal each to seal the home side’s dominant win.
Elsewhere, Swedru All Blacks suffered a surprise 1-0 home defeat to defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars. Michael Nkoah’s lone strike handed the champions their second win of the campaign, extending their unbeaten start to the season.
At the Ohene Ameyaw Park, Young Apostles snatched a late victory courtesy of Richmond Opoku’s decisive goal against newly promoted Techiman Eleven Wonders. The defeat left Eleven Wonders at the bottom of the table with just one point from four games, while Young Apostles climbed into the top half of the standings.
The fixture between Aduana Stars and FC Samartex was rained off and is scheduled to continue on Monday, October 6, 2025.
