This milestone marks the 10th Visa Waiver Agreement secured for Ghanaians since Hon. Ablakwa assumed office as Foreign Minister.

In remarks following the signing, the Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to Minister Greene for his remarkable contribution to the achievement, describing the agreement as a significant step in strengthening bonds between Ghana and the Caribbean.

He emphasised that the Mahama Administration remains deliberate about enhancing the value of the Ghanaian passport, advancing Ghana’s image within the international community, and improving the travel experience of Ghanaians.

The agreement is also expected to boost trade and tourism while fostering closer cultural and historical ties between Ghana and Antigua and Barbuda. Minister Ablakwa underscored that the partnership represents not only an expansion of Ghana’s global connectivity but also a reaffirmation of solidarity with “our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean.”
