Three GNA journalists selected for senior management media seminar in China

Three Ghanaian journalists from the Ghana News Agency (GNA) have been selected to participate in a 14-day Seminar for Senior Management of Mainstream Media across Africa in China. The journalists are Mr Yussif Ibrahim and Mr Anthony Apubeo, Chief Reporters at the Kumasi and Bolgatanga offices, respectively, and Mrs Mildred Siabi-Mensah, Editor of the Takoradi office.

Titled “Seminar for Senior Management of Mainstream Media in Countries along the Belt and Road,” the training is designed to equip newsroom managers with the knowledge and skills to leverage modern technologies, including artificial intelligence-driven content, to enhance operations, content generation, and marketing across Africa.

Participants are also visiting key sites such as the CCTV Tower and China’s longest TV satellite station, gaining insights into international media operations, development, and cooperation.

In interviews, Mr Apubeo highlighted the seminar’s focus on 5G technology and its relevance for retooling public media, while Mr Yussif commended the GNA Management and Board for investing in capacity-building to strengthen Ghana’s public media and maintain its relevance in Africa.
