Agenda 111 Kadjebi hospital project 75% complete, offering hope for improved healthcare in Oti Region

Kadjebi hospital project

The 100-bed capacity Agenda 111 Hospital project at Kadjebi in the Oti Region has reached 75 percent completion, sparking renewed optimism among residents for better healthcare access in the district.

Mr Frank Sakyi Amoyaw, the Project Quantity Surveyor, revealed the progress during a visit by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), assuring that contractors remain on site despite the change of government after the 2024 elections.

“Our focus is to see this project through to the end, and we are committed to delivering it for the people of Kadjebi and beyond,” Mr Amoyaw stated.

He disclosed that a recent inspection by officials from the Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) and the Ministry of Finance commended the project team for the progress made. The hospital, when completed, will feature modern wards, surgical theatres, maternity and pediatric units, laboratories, and residential facilities for staff, making it a landmark health investment in the Oti Region.

Mr Amoyaw, however, appealed for the timely release of funds to ensure completion on schedule. “We need financial support to bring the project to completion so it can serve its purpose of saving lives,” he stressed.

Residents of Kadjebi and surrounding areas have expressed high hopes that the facility will ease pressure on existing health centres and cut down on costly, long-distance referrals to Jasikan, Hohoe, or Ho for specialised treatment.

Ms Justine Korkor Amegatse, a local trader, told GNA: “We cannot wait for it to be finished. Many lives will be saved here.”

Launched by the Government of Ghana, the Agenda 111 initiative seeks to build 111 modern hospitals nationwide to expand healthcare access. The Kadjebi project, started in March 2022 by Core Construction Ltd, is strategically positioned to also serve neighbouring districts such as Jasikan, Biakoye, Guan, and parts of Togo.
