
Hon. Emelia Arthur is the Member of Parliament for Shama, representing her hometown on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Born on Saturday, 1st October 1966, she is a Christian and currently serving her first term in Ghana’s Parliament.
She holds a Postgraduate qualification from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) obtained in 2016, and has built a career in development work and institutional capacity building. Before her election to Parliament, she served as Senior Capacity Strengthening Specialist at WABiLED, where she worked to enhance governance systems and institutional performance across West Africa.

In Parliament, Hon. Arthur is a member of the Chieftaincy, Culture and Religious Affairs Committee and the Security and Intelligence Committee, contributing her expertise to cultural policy, national security oversight, and community development initiatives.
