NPP covering up the mountain of arrears they’re creating at Education Ministry

1 min read

The deceptive propagandists who are inviting the nation to a debate on fabricated arrears left behind by Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as Education Minister are dishonestly covering up the mountain of arrears they have created.

This is the /Bawumia record on current frightening arrears in the Education sector as presented to by Education Minister, Dr. and contained in the Education Committee Report on the 2024 Budget Estimates as unanimously approved by :

  1. The /Bawumia government owes publishers 80% of textbooks supplied amounting to a staggering GHS225million;
  2. The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government owes WAEC a colossal GHS129.8million;
  3. The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government has accumulated arrears in the 2023 Capitation Grant amounting to GHS18.4million;
  4. The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government owes utilities to secondary schools leading to mass disconnections;Beyond the 2024 Education Committee Report, parliament has received petitions from the following groups on government's additional arrears in the Education sector:
  5. School Uniform Suppliers say they are owed GHS74million;
  6. Teacher Unions are agitating over the refusal by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government to pay their Tier 2 Pensions;
  7. Food Suppliers have informed us government has not cleared all their arrears despite recent demonstrations at the Buffer Stock Company.

One wonders who advised propagandists to start the of arrears when they know that in Ghana's entire history, the NPP wears the odious crown as the only political party to have accumulated reckless, destructive, unsustainable debts and arrears leading to a bankrupt economy and Ghana's first ever debt exchange programme and forced financial haircuts. We are ready for them.

For God and Country. Ghana First 🇬🇭
