Following the resounding success of the Dumsor Vigil in on April 17, 2024, organizers are gearing up to replicate the protest in the capital city of .

Henry Osei Akoto, a prominent leader of the protest movement, emphasized the importance of expanding the vigil beyond . He highlighted the need to exert pressure on the government and draw attention to the adverse impacts of power outages on businesses and livelihoods.

Akoto expressed the group's determination to mobilize Ghanaians for street protests if the government fails to address the issue of erratic power supply, commonly known as Dumsor. He lamented the inconveniences caused by the ongoing power cuts and criticized the government for its failure to fulfil its promise of an uninterrupted power supply.

Organized by the Ashanti Democrats and spearheaded by Jerry James Sukkah, the Dumsor Vigil aims to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of power outages and advocate for sustainable solutions.
