Ghana has officially announced its entry into the , marking a significant milestone in its mission to redefine the telecommunications landscape across Ghana.

Following the successful acquisition of Vodafone Ghana, Ghana is poised to set new standards of excellence and innovation in the telecommunications industry, promising a transformational experience for consumers.

Madam Patricia Obo-Nai, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telecel Ghana, unveiled the company's presence in , emphasizing the pivotal role of the in shaping Telecel's business strategy. She highlighted the region's centrality and importance in Telecel's operations, emphasizing its commitment to delivering top-notch services to consumers.

Telecel Ghana, previously known as Ghana Telecom, has undergone various transformations since its inception in 1974, with Telecel being its latest partner. Madam Obo-Nai noted that the vibrant and energetic Telecel brand is backed by the Ghanaian government, which holds a 30 per cent stake in the business. She urged Ghanaians to support and subscribe to Telecel's products to ensure its continued success.

With the support of its new partners, Telecel Ghana aims to address challenges facing the network and provide advanced digital services to its customers. Madam Obo-Nai also highlighted Telecel's commitment to corporate social responsibility, including initiatives focused on healthcare, education, water, sanitation, and social inclusion through its Foundation.

Mr. Samuel Pyne, Metropolitan Chief Executive, emphasized the strategic significance of the Ashanti region as a hub for various industries, including telecommunications. He underscored the region's diverse economic landscape, which includes gold mining, agriculture, trading, commerce, manufacturing, and tourism, all contributing significantly to the region's development and Ghana's economy.
