Wala chief appeals to President Akufo-Addo to audit state lands in Wa 

Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, the of the Wala Traditional Council, has called upon President Nana Addo Dankwa to intervene and put an end to the unlawful acquisition of state lands in the Municipality.

During a courtesy call by President , Naa Pelpuo IV highlighted the alarming trend of individuals unlawfully identifying, rezoning, and selling state lands without consideration for the municipality's future development needs. He emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive audit of state lands to curb these illicit activities.

Naa Pelpuo IV expressed concerns that if left unchecked, these actions would impede the execution of local state projects crucial for the municipality's growth. He commended President Akufo-Addo for his interest in the development of Municipality and cited ongoing road projects as evidence of the president's commitment to the region.

However, the chief reminded President Akufo-Addo of pending requests, including the rehabilitation of the Wa-Bole-Bamboi road, tarring of the Wa-Sing Road, and provision of infrastructure for educational institutions. Additionally, he urged the president to ensure the availability and affordability of farm inputs for farmers in the region as the rainy season approached.

President Akufo-Addo, in response, assured Naa Pelpuo IV of prompt action to address the issue of illegal land grabs in the municipality. He also pledged to prioritize the rehabilitation of the Wa-Bamboi road and provide necessary support to educational institutions.

Acknowledging Ghana's reputation as a beacon of democracy in , President Akufo-Addo appealed to the chiefs and people of the region to collaborate with the government in safeguarding the nation's peace and security.
