Otumfuor is one of Kotoko’s biggest issues – Nana Agyemang

's head coach, Nana Agyemang, has pointed to the club's life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as a significant factor contributing to their recent struggles. Despite their prestigious history, the team has faced challenges, winning only one title in the last nine years and failing to advance past the round of 16 in any Inter-club competition.

Currently, the team is experiencing a poor run of form, with just two victories in their last ten matches. Prosper Narteh Ogum's side currently sits in 10th place on the league table with 36 points, dangerously close to the relegation zone.

In an with JoySports, Coach Agyemang expressed his concerns, highlighting the role of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in the club's management. Agyemang compared 's situation to that of other big clubs like Manchester United, where the patron's involvement is less prominent.

Agyemang emphasized the importance of having competent individuals managing the club and criticized the selection process for club management, suggesting that lobbying plays a significant role. He identified Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the management members he selected as key issues affecting the club's performance.

In response to the club's challenges, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II established an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to oversee the club's affairs. The IMC includes Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, Akwasi Appiah, Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi. This move came after the dissolution of the previous management team, led by Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah.

As Asante Kotoko strives to regain its former glory, the scrutiny of its leadership and management structure continues, with Coach Nana Agyemang's comments shedding light on the internal challenges facing the club.
