The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has reaffirmed its commitment to establishing permanent offices in all regions across Ghana.
Currently operational in 13 out of the country's 16 regions, the DVLA aims to extend its presence to the remaining three regions, according to Prince Opoku Adusei, Deputy CEO in charge of Operations. During a media briefing as part of a Board visit to the Volta region, Adusei assured that the necessary lands had been allocated to the Authority, and procurement processes were underway to facilitate the establishment of offices in the remaining regions.
The DVLA Board further assured that office projects in the Oti and North East regions would commence next year.
The annual nationwide tour conducted by the DVLA aims to assess service quality across the country. During the visit to offices in the southern parts of the Volta Region, the Board engaged with staff, identified challenges, and expressed satisfaction with the progress made.
Mr. Frank Davies, Chairman of the Board, emphasized the importance of commitment and dedication among staff members in fulfilling the Authority's mandate. He personally interacted with staff members, urging them to uphold professionalism in their duties.
Management of the DVLA in the Volta Region highlighted the challenges posed by commercial tricycle operators, particularly in terms of underage drivers and road safety concerns. This underscores the ongoing efforts by the DVLA to address key issues affecting road users nationwide.
As the DVLA continues to expand its presence across the country, it remains dedicated to improving service delivery, enhancing road safety, and ensuring compliance with regulations governing driver and vehicle licensing.
