Laryea Kingston appointed Head Coach of Black Starlets

Former winger, Laryea Kingston, has been appointed as the Head Coach of Ghana's U-17 national team, the .

The 43-year-old, who previously served as Assistant Coach under former coach Karim Zito since 2022, now steps into the lead role to guide the young talents of Ghana.

Kingston boasts an illustrious playing career spanning thirteen years abroad, showcasing his skills in , Scotland, the Netherlands, , and Saudi Arabia. During his time as a footballer, he represented renowned Ghanaian clubs such as and . His international career saw him earn 42 caps and participate in two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments for Ghana.

Assisting Kingston in his coaching role will be former captain, Jacob Nettey, and Nana Agyemang, both bringing their wealth of experience to the coaching setup.

The newly appointed coaching team has been tasked with assembling a formidable squad for the upcoming WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations in 2024 and the TotalEnergies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, with hopes of nurturing young talents and achieving success on the continental stage.
