Ghanaian actor Delove Augustt, known as Odenkyem, has reached the grand finale of the prestigious African Monologue Challenge, set to take place in Uganda this May. Odenkyem, celebrated for his roles in seasons five and six of the Ghanaian TV series “You Only Live Once” (YOLO), is among the top ten finalists in this highly competitive event.

The African Monologue Challenge, organized by MK Casting and themed “Uniting Africa through its Creative Economy,” initially drew over 2,000 entries. From this, only 50 were shortlisted, including Odenkyem, who has emerged as a significant young talent in the Ghanaian acting scene.

Participants in the challenge have undergone a rigorous selection process involving biweekly evictions, judged by an international panel of professional filmmakers and casting directors from Africa, Europe, and America. Through this process, Odenkyem has consistently demonstrated his exceptional acting skills, enabling him to secure a spot in the final round of the competition.

The winner of the grand finale will earn the opportunity to be cast as a lead character in a pan-African film, a milestone that promises significant exposure and advancement in their career. As the sole Ghanaian finalist, Odenkyem carries the hopes of his nation to clinch the top prize and further his burgeoning acting career on the continental stage.
