Seven remanded for allegedly assaulting man accused of shrinking another's manhood

Seven individuals accused of assaulting a man allegedly responsible for causing another's manhood to shrink have been remanded by a District court at Awutu Breku in the .

The victim, Ike Faith, was initially taken to Senya Polyclinic for treatment but was later referred to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital at due to the severity of his injuries.

Appearing before the court, the seven accused individuals did not enter pleas. They are Prosper Bonney, a 22-year-old Pragia Rider, Blessings Bonney, Emmanuel Baffoe, Kwame Arhinsan, Richard Quanssah, Gideon Amissah, and Emmanuel Otoo.

Prosper Bonney faces charges of publication of false news and deceiving a public officer. Additionally, Prosper and the other six accomplices are charged with causing unlawful harm, assault, and conspiracy to commit a crime, specifically causing harm.

The prosecution, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thomas Sarfo and Chief Inspector Bernice Wie Kpuusuu, opposed bail, citing ongoing investigations.

Mr. Victor Yankson, representing Prosper and Blessings, requested bail, but the court, presided over by Mrs. Naomi A. A. Kuntuor, adjourned the matter to April 26 for the accused individuals' pleas to be recorded.

According to the prosecution, the complainant, a National Service Personnel serving at Senya Beraku “C' Basic School as a teacher, reported that on April 9, 2024, at about 10:00 pm, a group of angry youth numbering about 20 assaulted Ike Faith, accusing him of using “spiritual means” to shrink Prosper Bonney's penis.

The prosecution alleges that earlier that day, Ike Faith and Prosper Bonney had a conversation regarding Pragia business. Subsequently, Ike Faith provided his complimentary card to Prosper Bonney.

Later that evening, Prosper Bonney claimed his penis started shrinking after dropping off Ike Faith. He then sought Blessing Bonney's intervention through prayers, alleging that his penis “reappeared” afterwards.

As a result of the assault, Ike Faith was hospitalized at Senya Polyclinic before being transferred to the Trauma and Specialists Hospital in for further treatment.

The police arrested the other accused individuals following their investigations into the incident.
