World Vision Ghana commissions water, sanitation, and educational facilities in Volta Region

Vision Ghana has inaugurated Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene () facilities alongside educational infrastructure in the Agortime-Zoipe District of the . The initiative aims to enhance the quality of life for residents, particularly children, in various communities.

The newly commissioned facilities include solar-powered water systems with standpipes and taps, institutional toilets, multipurpose information poles, and pavilions serving multiple communities, schools, and health facilities in the district. These facilities are vital for providing safe water access, improving sanitation conditions, and fostering educational development.

The commissioning ceremony, graced by Madam Laura Del Valle, Country Director of Vision Ghana, Dr. , Volta Regional Minister, and local traditional leaders, marks the culmination of four years of dedicated efforts by in the district.

Various initiatives undertaken by , including community engagement, sponsorship programs, reading improvement, skills enhancement, and healthy environment projects, have contributed to the holistic development of the region.

Madam Laura Del Valle highlighted the significance of the solar-powered water systems in providing safe water to over 15,000 residents, thereby reducing the burden of water collection, especially for children attending school. The newly installed institutional toilets will benefit hundreds of school children and healthcare facility users, promoting hygiene and sanitation practices.

The multipurpose information poles, installed in collaboration with THEOVISION, will facilitate night-time studying for thousands of children and disseminate child safety messages and environmental stewardship initiatives to households.

Dr. commended World Vision Ghana for its unwavering commitment to improving the lives of residents in the Agortime-Ziope District. He emphasized the critical importance of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in achieving and reiterated the government's support for such initiatives.
