Ameenu Shardow, the General Manager of outfit , revealed that the club deliberated on withdrawing from the Confederations Cup owing to financial challenges. Despite initial reservations, has defied the odds and is on the brink of advancing to the semi-finals of the competition.

Shardow disclosed that the club's board was divided over participation in the tournament, citing financial constraints as a primary concern. While some members of the management team opposed the decision, others foresaw the potential benefits of venturing into Africa.

Shardow also revealed the hurdles faced in securing financial support, with banks hesitant to extend loans due to perceived risks associated with African football ventures.
