Kwasi Nyantakyi is eligible for Ejisu parliamentary primary - NPP’s Ashanti Regional Secretary

Adom Appiah, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (), has defended Kwasi Nyantakyi's eligibility to contest the party's for the constituency. Appiah emphasized that Nyantakyi, the former president of the (GFA), has not been legally convicted of , making him qualified to vie for the seat.

Following the passing of the Member of and Deputy Finance Minister, , the opened nominations for parliamentary aspirants. Nyantakyi is among the nine individuals who have picked up nomination forms for the seat.

Despite public outcry over Nyantakyi's candidacy, particularly in light of allegations of stemming from the “Number 12” exposé, Appiah maintained that no court has proven Nyantakyi guilty, nor has Nyantakyi admitted guilt. Therefore, according to Appiah, Nyantakyi meets the requirements to contest the election.

Appiah emphasized that the vetting committee would review Nyantakyi's documents and make a decision on his candidacy. However, Appiah expressed his personal belief that Nyantakyi is eligible to contest the seat unless proven guilty by a competent court of jurisdiction.
