The Ministry of Information has expressed concern over the recent assault of a journalist at Dagbon FM in Tamale.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Ministry condemned the act and called for a swift investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators by the Ghana Police Service and relevant agencies.
The Ministry emphasized that attacks on journalists are unacceptable and should not be tolerated. It further highlighted the need for a severe and speedy response from law enforcement agencies to prevent copycat acts and maintain Ghana's status in upholding press freedom.
According to reports, the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, reached out to the journalist in a telephone conversation to offer support from the Ministry.
