A 22-year-old electrician named Michael Nelson has been remanded into police custody over allegations of raising a false alarm regarding his penis shrinking at Millennium City, Kasoa. Nelson faces charges of publishing false news and causing unlawful harm.
The court, presided over by Naomi Kontuor, did not accept Nelson's plea and scheduled his next appearance for April 11, 2024. The prosecution team, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thomas Sarfo and Chief Inspector Bernice Wie Kpuusu, presented the case against Nelson.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on March 27, 2024, around 3:15 pm, when the complainant, Safiru Bohari, a nail technician, was resting under a mango tree in Millennium City Estate. Nelson, a resident of the area, approached Bohari and baselessly accused him of causing his penis to shrink.
Allegedly, Nelson then raised a false alarm, attracting bystanders, and inciting them to believe that Bohari was responsible for the alleged shrinking. Without investigation, the mob subjected Bohari to severe beatings, resulting in various injuries.
Fortunately, a witness intervened and brought both parties to the Millennium City Police Station, where the incident was reported. Bohari received medical treatment, and a medical examination conducted on Nelson found no evidence of any penile issue, contrary to his claims.
