Rev Dr Albert Anane, the Eastern Region ‘A' Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, has called upon the government to lend its support to the passage of the bill addressing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) issues. He urged the President to sign the bill into law, emphasizing the importance of Christians displaying love towards those involved in LGBTQ practices to guide them towards Christ's salvation.
Rev. Anane made these remarks during the ninth annual council meeting of Eastern Region ‘A', Assemblies of God, Ghana, held in Koforidua. The meeting centred around the church's regional theme, “Sending the light by practice,” stressing the daily, aggressive, and consistent practice of God's word through evangelism, prayer, fellowship, and power ministry.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that the Eastern Region had successfully established 33 churches in various localities, adding to the existing 161 churches. Additionally, ongoing projects such as the regional office complex, retreat centre, guest house, and other legacy temples were discussed.
Reverend Dr. Stephen Y. Wengam, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, urged pastors to adhere to ministerial ethics to foster the church's growth. This includes aligning themes with the corporate theme of the year to ensure unity of purpose and effective mission fulfilment.
The council meeting concluded with the official ordination of ministers to serve in various districts within the region. Additionally, individuals such as Nana Kwaku Boateng III, Chief of the New Juaben Traditional Council, and other notable ministers were honored with citations for their contributions to mission work in the area.
