KoAntwi Mining Company reshapes deplorable roads in catchment area

The KoAntwi Mining Company Limited has undertaken the reshaping of deplorable roads within several communities in its catchment area, providing vital infrastructure improvements for residents. The roads addressed include Subri-Nkwanta–Aboabo to Sefwi-–Dominibo and Merewa to Aboso.

These roads, crucial for transportation and connectivity, serve communities such as Asawinso A, Aboabo, Nframago, and Merewa, among others, in the Bibiani-Anwhiaso- Municipality of the Region. They also link to Manso-Aboso in the Amansie South District of the .

In an with the (GNA), Nana Bonya III, the Human Resource and Community Relations Manager of the Company, emphasized the firm's commitment to addressing the needs of people in its operational areas. He highlighted the significance of road reshaping as a priority to improve accessibility and mobility for residents.

Additionally, Nana Bonya III announced the Company's intention to support education in the area by offering scholarships to bright but needy students, showcasing their broader community development initiatives.

Mr. Daniel Ofori Asare, the General Manager of the Company, disclosed that over GHC500,000 had been allocated for road projects within the catchment area and other nearby communities. He reiterated the Company's dedication to collaborating with stakeholders for peaceful coexistence and development.

Furthermore, Mr. Asare encouraged the youth to pursue mining-related courses to enhance their prospects for future employment within the Company.

Nana Kofi Kobri II, the Sub-Chief of Aboabo community, expressed gratitude to the Company for its efforts in reshaping the roads, noting the positive impact on transportation of farm produce to markets. He urged KoAntwi Mining Company to sustain its support for community development initiatives.

Residents interviewed by the GNA also commended the Company for improving road accessibility and called on other mining companies to emulate KoAntwi Mining Company's example by contributing to infrastructure development in their respective communities.
