Out of 3,020 applicants seeking admission to the Clement Kubindiwo Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) in for the 2023/2024 academic year, a concerning 1,598 applicants did not complete the registration process. This shortfall was revealed by Professor Samson Abah Abagale, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, during the institution's fourth matriculation ceremony.

Among the total number of admitted applicants, comprising undergraduate and graduate students, 1,016 undergraduate students and 406 graduate students successfully registered for their respective programmes. However, the reasons for the non-registration of a significant number of applicants remain unclear and could be multifaceted.

Professor Abagale highlighted the restructuring of academic programmes into ten schools, ranging from Computing and Information Sciences to Public Health. Notably, the School of Medical Sciences introduced PhD and M. Phil programmes in Infectious Diseases and Immunology, alongside efforts to launch programmes in Anaesthesia and Critical Care, as well as Medical Laboratory Technology, pending accreditation.
