In a tragic incident at Blacker junction in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality, a fatal accident occurred on Sunday around 09:45 hours involving a motorbike and a tipper truck, resulting in the death of the motorbike rider.
The victim, believed to be around 30 years old, remains unidentified, and the lifeless body has been deposited at the Apinto Government morgue for preservation and autopsy.
According to information gathered by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Shaibu Asante was driving the tipper truck with registration GN 691-21, while the deceased was riding an unregistered Boxer motorbike. Both vehicles were travelling along the Tarkwa-Takoradi highway.
The collision between the truck and the motorbike occurred at Blacker junction in the Tarkwa township, leading to the instantaneous death of the motorbike rider due to severe head injuries sustained in the accident.
The suspected truck driver, Shaibu Asante, is currently in police custody, cooperating with investigations. Meanwhile, both the truck and the motorbike have been impounded at the police yard pending further testing as part of the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident.
