The Minister for Communications and Digitization, , has called upon the (NCA) to create an environment conducive to global competition within the communications sector.

Speaking at the launch of the 5-Year Strategic Plan, Owusu emphasized the need for the NCA and relevant authorities to reflect, regroup, and identify new growth opportunities.

Owusu highlighted the importance of staying alert and focused to effectively respond to the evolving landscape of disruptive technologies.

She encouraged the NCA to collaborate with other institutions and consistently monitor the sector to minimize challenges.

Expressing confidence in the strategies implemented to keep Ghana competitive in the global communications market, Owusu stressed the engagement of all stakeholders in the regulatory intervention process.

During the launch of the 5-Year Strategic Plan, covering the period from 2024 to 2028, the Minister advised the NCA to remain flexible and adaptable while adhering to the plan's objectives.

She urged the NCA to learn from the best practices of regulators such as OFCOM in the , the FCC in the US, and the Communications Commission in .

The strategic plan aims to promote accelerated digital transformation and industry growth through efficient management of radio frequency spectrum resources.

The NCA anticipates that the plan will facilitate the rollout of the latest generation of mobile technologies and services, encouraging their use across various sectors of the economy.

Minister concluded by encouraging stakeholders to embrace the strategic plan, envisioning a future where Ghana stands as a benchmark in the electronic and communications industry.
