Mr. Alhassan Sulemana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Nominee for Yunyoo Constituency, has called for collaborative efforts among stakeholders to unlock development opportunities in the Yunyoo/Nasuan District.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency during the Gbintiri Chapter of Konkomba Students Union's (KONSU) Annual General Meeting in Jimbale, Mr. Sulemana emphasized the need for active involvement of all stakeholders, especially the youth, to contribute to the development of the area.
The event, held under the theme “Filling Educational Gaps in Kikpunkpaang: The Role of KONSU and Stakeholders,” brought together students, opinion leaders, and key stakeholders to discuss and strategize for the overall development of the Konkomba ethnic group in the district.
Mr. Sulemana highlighted the district's vast natural resources, including fertile agricultural lands, and stressed the importance of supporting farmers with loans to boost production.
He identified challenges such as poor road conditions, insufficient health and educational facilities, and a lack of financial support for smallholder farmers as obstacles to socio-economic development, pledging to address these issues.
During the event, Mr. Sulemana donated GH₵5,000.00 to support the Union. He encouraged the youth to believe in the potential of Yunyoo/Nasuan, assuring them that the area would overcome its current state of deprivation and underdevelopment.
Mr. Jeln Prince Bilaala, President of Gbintiri Chapter, KONSU, highlighted the Union's efforts in combating illiteracy, child and forced marriages and promoting youth empowerment and participation in national issues.
He credited the Chapter for its role in establishing the Gbintiri Technical/Senior High School and encouraging student enrollment.
Mr. James Adongo Wajack, Patron of KONSU, Gbintiri Chapter, commended the Union's leadership for their hard work and urged them to continue their efforts in advancing the development of the area.
