Police said the Weija Police received information that a man and his wife had been shot and wounded at Beach Drive Estate and required police assistance.
A police team proceeded to the scene and found Mohammed Rahman, 54, and his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.
The victims were conveyed to Finney Hospital, Weija, where Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife was referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment and is currently on admission, responding to treatment.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.
During interrogation, Adams Adder Almeida allegedly admitted to shooting Rahman and his wife. He told investigators that he was motivated by his perception that Rahman had repeatedly described him as lazy and useless, which he claimed had affected him mentally.
Adams subsequently led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was retrieved. The weapon was allegedly concealed beneath the wall drop of Bala Bilyon, who works with the deceased.
Investigations further established that Adams and Bala reside together in the same room at Tuba.
Adams also told investigators that the pistol was allegedly given to him by his friend, Gideon. He led investigators to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but he was not found at home.
Police said efforts are ongoing to locate Gideon to assist with investigations, while Bala Bilyon has been arrested for interrogation.
