Dr. , the Minister for Education, has praised the notable improvement in the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination () results, emphasizing that it reflects Ghana's unwavering commitment to maintaining high educational standards.

Speaking during an interview on an -based television station, the Minister commended the collective efforts of headmasters, , and students for achieving such commendable results.

The (WAEC) released a performance report indicating fluctuating trends in core subjects' performance over the years.

While English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science showed varying trends, Social Studies exhibited a consistent upward trajectory in candidates' performance over the four-year period.

Dr. Adutwum highlighted the impressive improvements in English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies. He specifically noted the substantial increase in English Language passes from 60.39% in 2022 to an impressive 73.11% in 2023.

Addressing the significance of education in combating poverty, Dr. Adutwum emphasized that a robust educational system, focusing on both access and quality, is instrumental in shaping the nation's future.

He underscored Ghana's unique approach to managing increased enrollment without compromising educational outcomes, citing the deployment of excess to handle larger class sizes.

Dr. Adutwum also outlined government initiatives to support tertiary education, including resourcing and funding the no-guarantor student loan policy.

He mentioned aligning the loan disbursement with the timing of tertiary admissions to facilitate timely financial support for students facing economic challenges.
