The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the alleged murder of Abdul Jabal Suleman at Abompe New Site, a suburb of Obuasi.
The suspect, Seidu Masawudu, also known as Marshall, was arrested at Soe in Bongo near Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region following an intelligence-led operation. His 22-year-old girlfriend was also arrested during the operation.

Ashanti South Regional Police Commander, DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaaba, said the suspect was wanted in connection with the fatal attack on July 9, 2026.
According to the police, a distress call indicated that a group of young men allegedly led by Marshall, armed with a firearm and cutlasses, attacked the victim and inflicted fatal injuries.
The victim was rushed to the AngloGold Ashanti Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
DCOP Nyaaba said the suspect allegedly admitted to the killing during interrogation and identified several alleged accomplices, including Happy Bowmin alias Oboy, Mallam Karim, Malik, Balanga, Basit, Nazir, Nuhu and Jedus alias Baron.
Police said the suspect claimed the attack was linked to a gang rivalry.
Efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects, while Seidu Masawudu is expected to be arraigned before court.
The Ashanti South Regional Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating crime and warned that the region would not be a safe haven for criminals.
