Ghana has officially opened the 19th edition of the eLearning Africa conference in Accra, bringing together education leaders, innovators, policymakers and technology experts from across the continent.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Education Minister Hon. Haruna Iddrisu said Africa’s future must be shaped by Africans through educational sovereignty, digital innovation and strategic investments in technology.

He highlighted Ghana’s progress in expanding digital learning, integrating artificial intelligence, coding and robotics into education, and increasing access to digital tools for students and teachers.
The conference is being held under the theme “Africa’s Time, Africa’s Terms: Learning for Sovereignty, Strength and Solidarity.”
Participants are expected to discuss strategies to bridge the digital divide, strengthen skills development, and promote African-led innovation in education.
According to the Ministry of Education, the conference reinforces a shared vision of an Africa where learning, technology and research drive sustainable development and empower the continent’s youthful population.
