TOUGHA welcomes the launch of Ghana’s e-visa regime

The Tour Operators Union of Ghana has welcomed the launch of Ghana’s new e-visa platform by the Government of Ghana under President John Dramani Mahama.

The statement, signed by TOUGHA President Yvonne Donkor, said the initiative is expected to improve Ghana’s tourism competitiveness and position the country as a more accessible destination for tourists, business travellers, conference delegates, and members of the African diaspora.

The Union said the fully digital visa application process would simplify travel planning, reduce waiting times and improve the overall visitor experience.

TOUGHA also commended the government’s decision to waive visa fees for African passport holders, describing the move as supportive of African integration, intra-African trade and cultural exchange.

The Union further acknowledged the involvement of its members, Kwaku Passah Sr, Fuseini Nawaru and Michael Orleans in the private sector consultative process leading to the implementation of the e-visa platform.

According to TOUGHA, the e-visa system is expected to increase visitor arrivals, boost destination confidence and strengthen Ghana’s competitiveness in the global tourism market.
