GES receives 600-bed dormitory donation for PRESEC Legon

The Ghana Education Service has received a 600-bed dormitory facility donated by Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong to Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Legon.

Dr Ofori Sarpong, an old student of the school, currently serves as Board Chairman and Global President of the school’s Alumni Association. He said the donation was in appreciation of the values, discipline and training he received from the school.

The facility is expected to support government efforts to expand access to quality secondary education by improving accommodation and reducing congestion in boarding houses.

The Ghana Education Service said old students’ associations continue to play an important role in the education sector through infrastructure support, mentorship, scholarships and institutional governance.

The Service commended Dr Ofori Sarpong for the donation and encouraged other alumni groups and individuals to support educational development.

Management also assured the donor and the public that the facility would be properly maintained and effectively utilised for the benefit of students.
