The Ghana Education Service (GES) has held a staff durbar aimed at promoting open dialogue, collaboration and institutional growth within the Service.
The event, held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the GNAT Hall, brought together management and staff to discuss the successes, weaknesses, challenges and opportunities facing the Service.

The durbar was led by the Director-General of GES, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, and his management team, providing staff with the opportunity to share their experiences, raise concerns and propose ideas to strengthen the operations of the Service.
The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, attended the programme alongside the Deputy Director-General (Management Services), Prof. Smile Gavua Dzisi, and the Deputy Director-General (Quality and Access), Dr Munawaru Issahaque, where they listened to staff and responded to issues affecting the Service.
As part of the programme, experts from the University of Ghana Medical Centre delivered a health talk on healthy living, while Glico Pension educated staff on retirement planning to support their health and financial well-being.
According to GES, the staff durbar reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparency, collaboration and mutual respect while strengthening the institution’s capacity to deliver quality education across the country.
