Police interdict five personnel over viral videos

ACCRA, 4 May 2026 – The Ghana Police Service has interdicted five personnel captured in viral videos engaging in acts that bring the Service into disrepute.

The affected personnel are Chief Inspector Matthew Blay, Chief Inspector Francis Arthur, Inspector Eric Osei of the Osu Police Station in Accra, Sergeant Amos Dery of the National Protection Unit, and Inspector Joseph Okyere Asabre of the Obuasi Police District.

They have been handed over to the Police Professional Standards Bureau for investigations in line with internal disciplinary procedures.

The Service stated that it remains committed to professionalism, integrity and accountability, and assured the public that appropriate action will be taken after investigations are concluded.
