The Ghana Education Service has completed a nationwide sensitisation and stakeholder engagement campaign to combat examination malpractice ahead of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) scheduled for May 4, 2026.
The exercise was conducted across all regions and districts and involved school heads, teachers, students, parents, invigilators, supervisors, community leaders, faith-based organisations, education unions, and security agencies.

The engagements focused on promoting integrity in examinations and reinforcing shared responsibility in preventing malpractice.
GES said key issues discussed included the impact of examination malpractice on students and national development, the role of educators and invigilators, and the importance of parental guidance.
Stakeholders were also educated on emerging forms of malpractice, including digital-enabled cheating, and the associated sanctions.
The Service said measures to be implemented include intensified supervision, strengthened monitoring systems, capacity building for examination personnel, and collaboration with security agencies to ensure credible examinations.
