The Ministry of Education, Ghana, has emphasised the role of skills development in Ghana’s transformation at the Ghana TVET Excellence Awards 2026 held at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra.
Representing the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, the Deputy Minister, Clement Apaak, said Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is central to industrialisation, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.

He highlighted reforms focused on competency-based training, stronger industry collaboration, and equipping learners with practical, demand-driven skills.
He also said that plans are underway to establish a TVET Fund to support infrastructure, training, and access, while a National TVET Policy awaits Cabinet approval.
The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, development partners, and trainees to promote standards and recognise excellence in the TVET sector.
