Dr. Amoakohene emphasized professionalism, transparency, efficiency, and innovation as essential pillars for the Board’s work, urging them to position the market not just as a trading centre but as a benchmark for inclusive and well-managed markets across the region.

The Board, led by Chairman and Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, pledged commitment to impactful governance, improved service delivery, and the welfare of traders and stakeholders.

Members of the Board include representatives from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, traditional authorities, Ministries of Local Government and Finance, and key market sectors such as Kejetia and the Central Market.

Dr. Amoakohene expressed confidence in the Board’s capacity to strengthen Kumasi’s economic growth, describing their mandate as crucial for turning the city’s markets into engines of prosperity.

He concluded that, with strategic leadership, Kumasi will emerge as a stronger, more vibrant, and modern commercial centre.
