The eagerly anticipated ninth edition of the Viva Cristo Rey Gospel Concert, organized by Christ the King Anglican Church (CKAC), Sakumono, is set to take place this weekend on Saturday, November 18, 2023.
The concert, themed “Viva Cristo Rey 9.0 – A Nite with the King,” aligns with the Anglican Diocese of Accra's 2023 theme, “Affirmative Discipleship.”
The Holy Child School Park in Sakumono will host the event starting at 1700 hours. Minister Kweku Teye, along with gospel groups such as Kings Praise (Host Band), CKAC Choir, Courageous Voices, and Royal Vine Gospel Jama Group, will grace the stage, promising an evening of soul-stirring performances.
Previous editions featured renowned gospel artists like Uncle Ato, Pastor Joe Beechem, Joe Mettle, KODA, Cece Twum, Eugene Zuta, Sissi Baidoo, and SK Frimpong.
The concert, a key component of the Parish's evangelism initiative, aims to draw worshippers from Sakumono and beyond for an enriching experience of worship, praise, and prayer.
Rev'd Fr. Roland Kpoanu, Parish Priest of CKAC, emphasized the concert's significance as a potent tool for evangelism, reaching out to the community and fulfilling the Great Commission's mandate.
He invited Christians and non-Christians alike to join the event, anticipating a spirit-filled atmosphere of unity and communion.
Mr. Paul Yeboah Asuamah, People's Warden at CKAC, expressed expectations for an uplifting and electrifying experience during the concert.
He highlighted the event's role in spreading messages of love, hope, and evangelism through the power of gospel music.
“Over the past few years, Viva Cristo Rey has been a point of communal spiritual renewal. This year promises to be an unforgettable sacred experience,” said Mr Yeboah Asuamah, a member of the planning committee.
