Christian businessman builds ultramodern mosque for community, but he has a surprising announcement

Asante Akyem Agogo witnesses a historic moment with the grand inauguration of the Agogo Central Mosque, a monumental project spearheaded by Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist, Ohene Kwame Frimpong.

The launch ceremony, held under the esteemed patronage of the Omanhene of Agogo, Nana Akuoko Sarpong, welcomed dignitaries, including Ghana's , Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu.

The event marked a significant milestone for Mr. Frimpong, CEO of Salt Media Group, who personally funded and oversaw the construction of the ultramodern mosque.

The Agogo Central Mosque stands as a mega-structural marvel, boasting vast areas for extracurricular activities, spacious worshipping auditoriums accommodating over 3,000 people, and essential facilities, including a clinic with a maternity ward serving the entire community.

During the ceremony, the , Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, bestowed special recognition awards upon Ohene Kwame Frimpong for his benevolence and exceptional efforts in fostering religious harmony. The mosque echoed with prayers led by the Chief Imam and other esteemed Islamic leaders present.

Abeiku Santana, media personality and board member of Salt Media Group lauded Mr Frimpong's charitable endeavours and commended the dynamic role played by the National Chief Imam in promoting inter-religious harmony.

Independent Candidate

In a surprising turn of events during the inauguration, Ohene Kwame Frimpong announced his bid to contest as an Independent Candidate for the Asante Akyem Constituency.

Expressing his deep commitment to the constituency, he stated, “I truly have the Asante Akyem Constituency at heart, and I want to get into a higher position, being an MP, to be able to do more for the people. With your continuous support, I believe I can secure the seat and change the lives of the people.”

Before the mosque's commissioning, Mr Frimpong demonstrated his commitment to the underserved by making significant donations to widows and vulnerable individuals in the Asante Akyem Agogo communities as part of the and festivities.

Following the successful event, a refreshment party was hosted at a private location for the visitors and attendees.

Additionally, Mr. Ohene Kwame Frimpong announced his intention to contest the 2024 parliamentary elections for the constituency, with a vision to bring further development to the region.
