These institutions fall under the BoG’s supervisory mandate to ensure they comply with consumer protection regulations, responsible lending practices, and data security standards. They are a distinct class of licensed financial institutions, separate from banks, Savings and Loans, or Finance Houses, which also provide digital credit services but are regulated under their specific primary licenses.
