The Christian Council of Ghana has paid a courtesy call on the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), commending the institution’s efforts to promote transparency, responsible gold trading and environmental sustainability.
Leading the delegation, Dr. Joyce Laco Steiner, Director of Programmes and Advocacy, described Ghana’s mineral wealth as a divine endowment that must be managed with integrity and accountability for present and future generations.

CEO of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, outlined the institution’s mandate under Act 1140 and its contribution to foreign exchange generation and macroeconomic stability.
He also highlighted ongoing initiatives in local gold refining, jewellery production, the establishment of an international-standard fire assay laboratory, land reclamation and the rehabilitation of water systems affected by mining.
The engagement reaffirmed a shared commitment to responsible gold management and sustainable national development.
